Review of Sissi (1955) by Pam A — 04 Aug 2008
This has to be my all time favourite. I remember seeing this movie as a little girl at our local cinema in the golden era of theatre going here locally. I loved the fairytale cinderella aspect of it; after all my mum fed me nutritious food simultaneously to feeding my brain with endless fairytales - it was the only way I could sit down long enough to digest healthy as opposed to fast food.
The story also recounts the empress' rebelliousness against conventions, something I could empathise with being something of a rebel myself. So I could easily project myself, mentally, into this heroine's role.
