Surprisingly, this movie has received very little (if any) attention since it was released last year. I guess the only explanation is that "Sinners & Saints" was buried by all the other junk coming out of Hollyweird lately.

Overall I thought this was a great movie. Sure, there were a few little bits in the plot that I could have nit-picked over BUT the quality of the cast and the obvious dedication they put into training for their scenes more than makes up for that. The main actor, Johnny Strong, obviously received a LOT of quality firearms training as did the rest of the supporting cast.

There's one thing you won't find in this movie: the typical idiotic slide racking sound that H'weird inserts in all their films when a character so much as touches a firearm. The big thing I noticed in S&S was that you never hear that sound unless you see someone actually chambering a round.

For the shooters out there, you're going to really appreciate the weapons handling: no-shit reloads (no limitless "Hollyweird magazines" here folks), weapons transitions, non-standard firing positions and someone actually transitioning from pistol to a long gun taken off a dead guy. Most of us have heard Clint Smith's quote "The only purpose for a pistol is to fight your way back to the rifle you should have never laid down" and this is probably one of the few times I've ever seen it seriously done in a movie.

So here's the quick wrap-up. Pretty good storyline, excellent cast, great gunfights and if you didn't notice it, a pretty bitchin' soundtrack in the background.

If "Sinners & Saints" ever comes out on DVD/Blu-Ray (there's no release date that I know of yet) it's definitely getting added to the collection, probably right next to "Heat" and "Thief". For now I'll settle for the downloaded copy on the laptop, but this is one that deserves to be watched on the big-screen TV.
