Review of Sinister (2012) by Chiek E — 07 Sep 2013
A strange film to say the least. The mythology and spirituality is kind of hard to follow. The sense that a demon can be in photos that take themselves is quite puzzling. A decent horror flick that has it's moments.
Hawke does a good job at acting, but from all the praise, I thought he would have done better. The scoring was well and the subtle instances of shadow and the placement of the demonic figure did well with the whole presentation.
The ending was one of those foreboding, BAD endings that you kind of saw coming. All in all a somewhat better than average horror flick, though not bad and not Great. A decent scary movie to pick up for rent and to watch in the dark.
