Review of Sinister (2012) by Damjan R — 20 Jan 2014

Sufficiently scary and creepy to be worth a watch, but to often does the film rely on genre conventions and cliches to execute its interesting plot. Not much in the film is top notch except the music which is some of the most unsettling in recent memory.

I would have love to see this story be taken in a different direction, as this supernatural focus does force the audience to sit through too much filler, and not enough killer scenes. If it's on, don't turn it off, but keep expectations low.
