Review of Sinister (2012) by Erik F — 11 Aug 2015

There were a lot of flaws in this movie and yet, YET, it was pretty good. While the father is so dense on the situation, it was already too late from the very beginning. I had no idea what I got myself into and since these modern horror films lack of what classic horror films had, I couldn't bring myself down to enjoy much of it.

The story is good, don't get me wrong, and I kinda knew what's going on and what's going to happen. However, my sister got most of the predictions right. The "pop-ups" in which I usually call them jump scares were mild but I know that most movie goers would get more immersive in that kind of thing than I do.

What I like about this movie is what kept me guessing how the story will go. I wonder if it's going to be like or it's going to be like this because all the clues were there, even from the very beginning.

It kept me guessing until the end which, to me, was kinda fun. Also, the ladder was so evil, it almost killed Ethan Hawke. Overall, the movie is not so bad and yes, I would watch the next movie.
