Review of Sinister (2012) by Joyce D — 18 Oct 2015

Scariest thing I've seen in a long time. Not sure why so many critics panned it. The concept is terrifying, the soundtrack is ultra-creepy, the filmography is artfully done. It accomplishes scaring you half to death without a lot of gore and silliness.

Ethan Hawke's acting is excellent as always. And it kept up the momentum clear until the end, which is where many horror movies fall short. I was watching it at home by myself after dark, and had to pause it and continue in broad daylight.

It was that scary!
