Review of Sinister (2012) by I Am A — 05 Feb 2016

Does absolutely nothing new with the genre and actually involves a number of ridiculous plot beats that make no sense, just so the filmmakers can squeeze a scare out of the audience. It also isn't particularly scary, though it does have a couple disturbing bits. Really the only thing this has going for it, other than Ethan Hawke giving it his best, is the great ending, which is both brutal and unexpected.

Other than that this movie offers nothing we haven't seen many many times before.
