SINISTER starts off with a deliriously creepy image but then never takes off beyond that. Basically 90 minutes of Ethan Hawke watching a movie. And that image, so creepy at first, keeps coming back until it is stripped of all horror.
SINISTER is clearly one of those endeavors made up of a few good ideas strung together around a faux plot.
