I had only seen this once, and heard recently that they're making a sequel, so I had to rewatch it. Calling it a horror is really a stretch, it's more of a thriller. The most disturbing parts are the footage of the home movies & really defines the entire movie.

Ethan Hawk left a lot to be desired, but I'm personally not a huge Ethan Hawk fan. What bugged me the most about the story line is why would you not tell someone,"hey I found these creepy 8 mm home movies in the attic of my new house" especially after watching them and seeing something like, I dunno CHILD MURDER?! Boogey was ok, I like how they hardly showed him, they could have made him creepier but really that's just knit picking on my part.
