Review of Sinister 2 (2015) by Caleb H — 20 Aug 2015
An objectively "okay" horror film with some genuinely "amazing" ideas. This film will be misunderstood by many due to its unflinching nature in regards to domestic abuse, and over-sensationalizing of violence.
However, it's quite incredible when the most terrifying aspect of a horror film isn't even the villain being advertised, or the snuff films in which it earned its reputation. A truly "great" film is underneath all the poor pacing, awkward writing choices, and odd direction throughout.
