OK movie with a ho hum ending, in my opinion. It falls into the trap that so many modern horror sequels do. You have a surprisingly good new franchise that makes you almost have to do a sequel. You then decide that in the sequel you have to explain things that were mysterious from the first movie.
In doing so you make a bit of a formulaic mess of the movie. They are usually OK, but never great. See Jeepers Creepers and its sequel for another great example of this phenomenon.
