Review of Singularity (2017) by Conrad T — 29 Nov 2017
I can't believe I paid 7.99 to watch this on cable. The concept wasn't half bad and I was genuinely surprised by the twist at the end. The script and dialogue were painful to watch/hear, though.
If given the first two words of each line I could have easily given you the rest of it. Even John Cusack's assumed talent couldn't make this movie any better. It was obviously low-budget, and that wasn't necessarily a bad thing, but there were certain parts (hello Calia, are you related to Katniss?) that were derivative at best.
If the movie had been free I wouldn't have bothered to finish it, even though I'm glad I did, because I wouldn't have guessed the twist at the end. Is this really what John Cusack does these days? He'd rather do this than a RomCom? I guess if he's getting paid.
