Review of Singularity (2017) by Matthew L — 02 Oct 2018
When a movie repeatedly uses dialogue "They say [insert plot point here]" as an actual plot device, you know what I say? The movie has major problems. This movie isn't so bad it's good.
It's just double bad. The story is ripped directly out of several movies in the Terminator franchises, with a less intelligent version of Katniss Everdeen (from The Hunger Games) thrown in for some weird reason.
John Cusack and Carmen Argenziano are great actors, but not in this movie. Maybe they are in on the joke and thought bad performances would work somehow? Nope. Just nope. I don't often stop watching a movie just because it's bad, but I had to stop watching this one.
A word to Netflix, just because a big name is in the movie and no one else picked up its rights, this doesn't mean you found a hidden gem. Although this movie is worse than Titan, you should've passed on both of them.
