Review of Single White Female (1992) by Patrick H — 15 Sep 2008
A surprisingly good thriller made from a familiar premise. Bridget Fonda is Alison and is looking for a new roommate. Jennifer Jason Leigh is Hedra, who seems to come along at just the right time and seems perfect to live with.
Secrets and lies begin to pile up and Alison discovers what Hedra is hiding behind her seemingly innocent personality. The two female leads are very good, Jennifer Jason Leigh in particular. Before the halfway mark, I had already guessed the twists and turns.
But it's done with a certain style that makes it worth seeing.
