Review of Single White Female (1992) by Zachary S — 30 Apr 2009
Single White Female is a slightly predictable, slightly unintentionally humorous, and slightly twisted film that gives new meaning to the crazy roommate stereotype. Jennifer Jason Leigh does a great job at portraying the deranged Ellen throughout the film, though she is also quite charming in the beginning.
Bridget Fondaâ??s acting obviously isnâ??t her best quality, but the woman is so gorgeous that it almost doesnâ??t matter if she has a flat affect, sheâ??s still likable enough. However, the filmâ??s storyline is considerably weak and cliché of thrillers in this genre.
Nothing really makes it stand out either, as Leighâ??s character is not as memorable as Hannibal or Catherine Tramell. But overall, it is a fair film that will keep you engaged through till the very end.
