Review of Single White Female (1992) by Jaclyn L — 18 Aug 2010
What a fantastic thriller. And great performances from Bridget Fonda and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Leigh's character is about as disturbing and twisted as they come, and she couldn't have played it better. She certainly keeps you on the edge of your seat and it's never really clear what her motives are and what she wants.
The beginning of the film is fairly dull, and is full of irrelevant dialogue and sex scenes, but it suddenly takes a turn and the last half hour(ish) is incredibly tense and full of suspense. Despite being released in the early nineties it doesn't have that sometimes annoying cheesy feel to it and is very entertaining at times. A thriller that is well worth watching.
