Review of Singin' in the Rain (1952) by Nicholas L — 18 Dec 2010
A feel good musical with very little story to tell. Basically it is just to showcase Gene Kellyâ(TM)s energetic dancing skills and the ingenious choreography. It is so obvious that the sequence âGotta Danceâ? was added to prolong the running time. Yet, Singinâ(TM) in the rain is an antidote to depression. There are more than one scene that are epitome of cinematic song/dance magic.
PS : Why is Debbie Reynoldsâ(TM) back so stiff? She dances as if operated by invisible strings above her.
