Review of Sing Street (2016) by Mike K — 16 Jul 2016
This is a joyously inspiring movie about a boy, a girl and a band - and about so much more than that. This movie is not only full of great characters, it's full of great relationships, between bandmates, brothers, friends and enemies, and would-be lovers.
The main theme of the movie nails the artistic process to perfection, and the humanity that goes into creating something. The soundtrack is amazing, a great mixture of famous songs and very good originals, and the entire production is on a whole other level - the Back To The Future prom scene gave me goosebumps.
There are rare times when you're watching a movie and 2/3rds of the way through it, you tell yourself that you're watching something special - that's this movie. Best movie of 2016 so far - see it.
