John Carney writes and directs his 1st movie since the critically acclaimed 'Begin Again', but his latest 'Sing Street' is his best. A funny, moving picture with both original music and songs from the times (80's Ireland), 'Sing Street' connects on many levels.
Newcomer Ferdia Walsh-Peelo plays a high school student who transfers to a new school in order to help his family save money. Walsh-Peelo, starts a band in order to get the attention of a girl. How many of us didn't think about a great way to get a girl? Carney uses music to tell the story and the story is so good it shouldn't be spoiled.
A story for brothers, or anyone who has gone for it and tried something new.
