If the end doesn't quite fail to live up to the transcendent fun (with dark edges) that precedes, it's only because Sing Street has set the bar so high. Full of loveable characters, memorable songs and 80s in-jokes (particularly the nod to the Cure as the band go all 'serious'), it's a joy for anyone who has ever started a band with grand delusions.
Would make a great companion piece to Almost Famous.
