John Carney's movies have been among my favorites in recent years. Once is a perfect movie, and I think I may have liked Begin Again even better. Sing Street is the third "musical" and the weakest. But only by Carney standards. It's still plenty likable.
In this movie, some odd youngsters start a band with a goal of winning over a girl. This movie is lighter than the others. As a drama fan, I don't necessarily like that. And the music was not as good in this as the others (the Once soundtrack is amazing, and Begin Again has the likes of "Lost Stars" by Adam Levine...this movie has no memorable songs).
