Review of Sing Street (2016) by Trenton H — 24 Jan 2017
Sing Street is a heart-warming coming of age flick that hits the right notes. The music is fun, energetic and catchy. The odes to 80's rock is sure to please anyone who lived through it. The characters are quirky, and bringing smiles to your face every time you see them. Jack Reynor plays the older brother who hasn't lived to his potential, and he smacks it out of the park. Powerful performance.
The awkward group of lads come together with humor and wit to put together fun jingles that I want to keep on going. The movie has laughs, tears, and ultimately heart.
The only flaw is that it moves a tad too fast in certain spots, and could hit even harder at others. Overall, the predictable story is fun, sounds great, and leaves you wanting more.
