Review of Sing Street (2016) by Masterriley — 15 Jul 2017
Sing Street is a fantastic movie that explores heavy themes of music, growing up, and young love. In a lot of ways it is reminiscent of Back to the Future, which is in fact referenced several times throughout the film.
It takes place in the 80s and follows a young boy as he deals with a troubled family life and having to move to a new school. However he has a passion for writing/playing music, and soon falls in love with a girl which gives him something to live for.
The film has some really great performances and original songs that make it a must watch. Anyone that is obsessed with 80s films/culture definitely needs to check this movie out.
