A stunning achievement, Sin City is pure sensory overload shot straight to the synapses, a vital, astonishingly brutal, gore drenched, sexy, beautiful mainlining of pure film noir sensation. You've never seen anything that looks or feels quite like it.
Also among the amazing cast of stars, Mickey Rourke, here making his comeback as an actor after years of drugs, booze and controversy, is the standout as hulking thug with a heart of gold Marv, Rourke is so perfect as the iconic character that it's like he walked right off the page.
Robert Rodriguez has never made a better film.
