Review of Simon of the Desert (1965) by Evan K — 08 Sep 2009
I thought this was a good movie but obviously not as great as the critics think. I love his surrealism. This felt more like a parable and the thing about seeing Exterminating Angel and Belle De Jour right around this is that they feel like fully fleshed out film.
I think I'd give this 5 stars for any other director and like Las Hurdes I think it is a brilliant distraction from his more complete visions.
