Review of Silver Streak (1976) by Diana W — 07 Aug 2009
Love Trains!
Love Gardening! "Always be nasty to Nasturtiums!".
My favourite Gene Wilder movie.
I find this movie so soothing... watch it any time it is on, which it is right now! Must be the sound of the continual movement of the train, almost constantly in the background of the movie, alternating with a beautifully meandering mournful 60-70's sounding soundtrack. This sound and motion affect is uniquely referenced in the movie!
Richard Pryor is so cute in this movie!
Interesting spice of life from the 70's!
Quirky cute wry thriller!
Some of the most famous scenes in all Moviedom-moviedumdum...
Gene Wilder in Black Face attempting to pass for black and have rhythm simultaneously! Richard's commentary is priceless!
When needing to milk a cow...
Rita (Lucille Benson-beautiful priceless character actress with a small but pivotal part) says to Gene Wilder's character George, but only referring to him as Steve;.
"Cut the gas, Steve, you're a grown man!".
"Take a tit in each hand and let nature take it's course!".
Then when in flight...".
"They tout The Joy of Sex, but it don't last like The Fun of Flying."â?? spoken by Lucille Benson in the movie 'Silver Streak,' 1976.
"Must have been the Hippies!"(Scatman Crothers!).
"You The Man!".
"Get them Hippies off the road!
"Damn Hippies!" (Scatman Crothers!).
Some of the most irreverent comments in other miscellaneous scenes!
