Review of Silver Linings Playbook (2012) by Mitchell Z — 03 Nov 2014
With a heartfelt story and compelling performances by an all-star cast, David O. Russell's Silver Linings Playbook is one of the best independent films I've seen. Bradley Cooper is perfect in the lead role, portraying Pat with different emotions and doing a fantastic job of portraying them throughout his journey.
At the female lead is Jennifer Lawrence as Tiffany. Lawrence is without a doubt one of the best actresses around, and the fact she's in her low 20s and has already gotten such great recognition from both teens with The Hunger Games franchise, and the Academy with compelling dramas, is remarkably impressive.
Silver Linings Playbook is masterfully directed and its full of heart that will leave a smile on your face at the end.
