Review of Silver Hawk (2004) by Jeffrey L — 24 May 2010
I came across this little Japanese superhero flick called Silver Hawk, staring Michelle Yeoh. It's pretty interesting. The fight scenes are majorly kick ass. They're like scenes from The Matrix, but without the CGI and special effects - they're all practical and done by the people themselves. The music is also pretty good.
The plot is nothing new, pretty much a far lighter version of Batman, and Silver Hawk has to bring down a man bent on taking over the world by controlling people through their cell phones, while a police detective, who happens to be her best friend from childhood, works on trying to bring Silver Hawk down.
Michael Jai White is also in this. He played Spawn, and he's one of the main villains in this, with these robotic gloves that are awesome.
