Review of Silent Running (1972) by Mjs M — 21 Apr 2008
This is a strange science fiction movie from the 70s directed by the guy who did the special effects for 2001: A Space Odyssey. Most of the film is a one man show with Bruce Dern interacting with a bunch of R2-D2 looking robots.
The effects have aged better than most movies from the era, and the first act is pretty good. That said Dern is a real ham, and his performance didn?t work for me, which is bad in a one man show. The movie isn?t great, but it blows Logan?s Run out of the water.
