Review of Silent Rage (1982) by Hunter D — 30 Aug 2010
Before FREDDY VS JASON, director Michael Miller gave the world Chuck Vs. Michael Myers. This movie is like HALLOWEEN, except if Michael Myers was created in a lab and it was up to Chuck Norris to defend the residents of Haddonfield (among them Ron Silver and William "Phantom of the Paradise" Finley).
SILENT RAGE is actually a halfway descent B-movie, it's hard to tell if half the content is rip-off or homage, but it doesn't really matter because it's pretty fun anyway. The execution of almost every bit of violence is quick, brutal, and awkward as Hell, but it's such a strange mix of stupid and scary it almost works.
This is essentially a slasher flick with Chuck Norris thrown in, consider it a bizarre genre curiosity item.
