Review of Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984) by Kenjamin H — 21 Dec 2007

I don't know about you guys but I am sick and tired of watching "A Christmas Story" at this time of year. It's time for something different. Christmas isn't always about peace & love.

. IT CAN BE ABOUT SEX AND VIOLENCE TOO! And I'm definitely one for sex and violence. The story is simple yet you see all the elements that transform Billy into the ruthless Nutcase killer. To me this movie is the YIN to Halloween's YANG.

Except I enjoyed this one alot more because it isn't as serious and dull. Also... the camera work for the Halloween series is too dark (literally... you can't see a damn thing). When I watch a movie for gore I want to see gore.

.. not a bunch of shadows... If I was planning to use my imagination.. I would've read a book. .... anyways back to this film... there are enough topless women in this movie for a quick orgy or two.

. the gore isn't over the top but effective... the only gripe I have with it.. is that Billy didn't get to make his last kill... if you watched the film you would've enjoyed seeing the axe go right into the head of Mother Superior.

. a solid 4/5.
