Review of Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984) by Andrew E — 27 Mar 2011

This is one of the scariest 80's horror films along with A Nightmare on Elm Street. Silent Night Deadly Night is the story of a young teenager who's tormented goes on a killing spree dressed as a Santa due to his younger times when he stayed at an orphanage where he was abused by the mother superior.

As I said Silent Night Deadly Night is one of the ebst 80's horror films along with A Nightmare on Elm Street. But it is not only the best horror film in the 80's it is also one of the best horror films that takes place in Christmas along with the original Black Christmas.

I actually saw the trailer of this film and I have to say that this film is incredibly well made. The movie itself also created a controversy because the killer is dressed as a Santa Claus and the killer holds weapons and the film itself was also removed from theaters two weeks after it's release.

The reason why I like this film it's because the whole movie is intense, creepy, unnerving, scary and disturbing as well and unlike other horror films whose disguised as a serial killer like Michael Myers and Jason Voorhes.

The killer in this film wears a Santa Claus outfit. The gore and the violence in this film is extreme because there are lots of scenes in this film that is really graphic and brutal in which the film is a video nasty and it was also banned in the UK and in theaters as well.

The scene when the guy gets carried by the killer and he is stabbed in the reindeer thingy was incredibly graphic and gory and the scene when the guy gets his head chopped of by the killer using an axe was also gory, graphic and intense in which the film is a video nasty and it is the reason why it never showed in theaters two weks after it was released.

Anyways the director of this film did a good job with his directing in the first installment of the Silent Night Deadly Night saga and the actors and actresses in this film was also good with their performance as well.

Overall Silent Night Deadly Night gets an 8/10 because the film itself is brutal, gory, graphic, intense, scary, disturbing, unnerving and creepy as well.
