Review of Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984) by Jeff D — 06 Jan 2012
A young boy - Billy, is traumatised by seeing his parents brutally murdered by a man dressed as Santa Claus. He grows up with psychological issues in an orphanage, Christmas and Santa are pretty disturbing for him.
The movie clunks along to Billy as an 18 year old when something snaps and, dressed as Santa, he goes on a killing spree. This is not worth the label of a horror movie, it is poorly acted, illogical and certainly not scary.
The reason it has numerous sequels is presumable because of the controversy the story generated. Do not bother with this movie, it is lame.
