Review of Silent Hill: Revelation 3D (2012) by Inu4Sh4 — 23 Jun 2020
This was a total flop. I won't make this long. I'm a huge Silent Hill fan if you cannot tell by my video game reviews, but this movie was a disappointment. It started out quite thrilling and it even added some cool easter eggs of the games but the second half of the movie was terrible. Why include Pyramid Head in this movie? Why did they have to go with the marketable approach and just milk the character? Pyramid Head is a character that should never have left Silent Hill 2. It kept getting rewritten and sh*t on and this movie was no exception. As if it wasn't enough ruining Silent Hill's 3 fantastic plot... It was not a good standalone horror movie neither a good video game to film adaptation. There's no point in trying to defend it, it did fail at everything. Hey, at least it had cool visuals and the first half of the movie was actually pretty tense and scary but what came after ruined everything.
Just go watch the first movie. It's so much better than this pile of crap and at least tells an interesting story with original characters instead of just sh*tting on existing characters in the Silent Hill's universe.
