Review of Silence (2016) by Debbie R — 17 Jan 2017
If you miss movies that make you think, you MUST see this one. One of the most thought-provoking movies Hollywood has put out this decade! I promise that there's more geniune emotion in the first 15 minutes than in any two hours of any typical Hollywood flick today.
It's a period piece that examines Japan's apostate priests and their struggle with Renaissance-era Christianity versus Buddhism, and xenophobia versus modernity.
