Unlike Down Terrace, there is a much more measured approach to dark comedy taken by Wheatly here. The humour is simply irresistable to turn away from even if it is in questionable taste. The characters are just so odd that they could well be cousins of the guys from The League of Gentlemen.
Brillant stuff and a great ending.
