Your typical teen Rom Com, where the nerdy girl falls for the cool, hot and more popular guy. It was basically 16 candles. It did bother me that in real life, this situation would never happen. A popular guy, especially in today's society, wouldn't openly date or choose a girl deemed a loser.
It puts fake Hope into young minds of girls with insecurities. This could be possible after high school, but kids need to learn to respect and love everyone, not just the popular people. Had they focused on the school accepting her as she is, just a bit more, I would've felt it wasn't just about a guy accepting her.
