Review of Side Effects (2013) by James M — 05 Sep 2013
A rather lowbrow thriller from director Steven Soderbergh about a young woman suffering from depression who is given a new course of medicine by her doctor which has unexpected side effects which throw both of their worlds into turmoil.
Rooney Mara proves, just as in her other recent performances, that she is very much an up and coming talent and Jude Law puts in his usual seasoned performance. Catherine Zeta-Jones however, is simply unpleasant.
Overall, this is nowhere good as the director's other works, but was decent entertainment. I probably wouldn't give it a rewatch though.
