Review of Side Effects (2013) by Julian L — 27 Dec 2013
I'm not a soderbergh fan; I dislike his use of tangy colours and try to disguise it as arthouse indie. personal feelings aside, the storyline is multi-layered and that's part of the charm. It starts with leading the audience to believe how pharma's conduct shrewd business and not taking responsibility when things go awry hence the title "side effects" then the "mystery" elements kicks at the last 45 minutes and injects you with a whole plethora of homo-erotica with a generous dose of double cross, lies and blackmail.
Wham and you're left with a thumping soundtrack to end it off with. kudos mr.soderbergh (still hate your colour grading though).
