Side Effects works as a basic thriller. Jude Law carries the film, but it works. I think there was a better film that could have been made. Based on the trailer I thought Side Effects would be a social drama and was a bit disappointed those issues are not particularly relevant in the film.

The film is suspenseful, but I was not a fan of the style and thought it to be more like a Lifetime movie than a either a Hitchcock classic or classic noir.
