Review of Side Effects (2013) by Nl K — 17 Mar 2015
This is a tough one. It raises some interesting questions about prescription drugs and who or what may be responsible for someone's behavior. And it takes some turns in the second half that are interesting.
But I felt at times like there were too many twists, that it just got unnecessarily complicated. I almost feel like the movie could have done without the Catherine Zeta-Jones character entirely and been fine.
I found myself asking too many questions like "ok would she really have done this?" Which kind of took me out of the movie a bit near the end. It has some good performances and is pretty entertaining.
I'm just not as sold on it as I could have been.
