The stability of the digital image from production to digital presentation will make it superior to film in a very short time from now. I'm already seeing things with small budgets looking better than film projection on my television.
Film WAS the medium of moving images, but with the increase of resolution, frame rate and image stabilty, digital will move the art of moviemaking to new hieghts. There were idiots who fought sound. There are idiots with hearing problems who think LPs sound better than CDs.
