"Side by Side" is an extremely informative documentary about the eventual shift from photochemical filmmaking to digital filmmaking as well as the future of cinema. Among the directors/cinematographers interviewed are notable names like Steven Soderbergh, James Cameron, Vittorio Storaro, David Fincher, Christopher Nolan, David Lynch and Michael Ballhaus.
Several good, interesting points are made about how digital filmmaking as affected cinema as an art form in a negative way, and if making films the easier, cheaper way is really the best decision.
