Review of Sid and Nancy (1986) by Clare W — 21 Aug 2007
Not the most accurate portrayal of their story but Gary Oldman IS Sid Vicious, more Sid than Sid was. Chloe Webb plays a whiny Nancy and her accent isn't NY/London enough although she delivers an unforgettable performance as the truly messed up schizophrenic young punkette.
As a massive Sex Pistols & Punk fan I love the way the film accurately portrays the environment of the time, the clothes and the music and scenery are nearly perfect. Watch this film if for nothing more than the glamorously dire London punk scene of the late 70's.
