Review of Sid and Nancy (1986) by Bob O — 25 Jan 2008
An above average film based on a man who contributed almost fuck all to society and even less to the music industry, and still somehow managed to attain legendary status after his death. Gary Oldman plays the useless tit Vicious very well.
..but playing an anarchic, drug induced punk rocker, probably not so tough. The movie was fairly accurate, but I think they tried to enforce way to much sympathy upon vicious who was really a naive jackass trudging blindly behind the useless twat known as Nancy Spungen (who on a side note was played superbly by Chloe Webb, if not somewhat excruciatingly painful to listen to at times).
All in all it's a decent "rockrospective" flick, if you want to kill 2 hours or want to become misconceived like every other punk rock wannabe then you're in for a treat.
