Review of Sid and Nancy (1986) by Jonathan G — 04 Apr 2010
This movie is based on Sid Vicious, from the British punk band, The Sex Pistols, and his American groupie girlfriend, Nancy Sprungen and was done so well it just hurts to watch. This true-life Romeo and Juliet of punk rock live high on the life of fame and then eventually crash into drug addiction.
The director, Alex Cox, did a great job of showing the disorganized every day life of these two self-destructive heroes. You may not like this movie if you don't care anything about the punk music scene.
