Review of Sicko (2007) by Lorenzo V — 14 Jan 2010
"This might hurt a little.".
A documentary comparing the highly profitable American health care industry to other nations, and HMO horror stories.
REVIEW.
Ocumentarian filmmaker Michael Moore strikes once again ? in this, arguably his best work to date ? focusing a scrutinized lens at America's insufficient health care system, the unscrupulous insurance companies, crooked politicos and the general malaise of the world's greatest nation shunning its citizenry with subpar work and no universal national health care that unlike other nations in Europe, Canada and Cuba have and the inexcusably horrific situations many are discovered to have been swept by the side in handling those who are in desperate need of sufficient medical care. For the most part the comedic glance is a bit eschewed in favor of depicting a human portrait instead for a stronger argument that it is truly unfathomable of how we take care of our own.
