Review of Sicko (2007) by Raynormanbateman . — 27 Jul 2009
An absolutily fantastic and thought provoking documentary. Americans hate him surely but I think only the ignorant ones. The guy does not hate his country but points out the flaws and there are many in The United States Of America, the so called most powerfull country in the world.
Moore goes around Europe to investigate how the health service works and how and why we get it for free here when in America you have to make a choice which finger to attach back because of the price for example. It's really shocking to know that the most powerful country spends billions on weapons to kill innocent people in the middle east but can't spend that money on getting health services sorted out and delivered to all the poor or everyone in general, their own people. People could say all they want but the truth is ignorance is all over the place there and he just shows them and us that the truth is worse than we thought it was.
The biggest insult in the film is probably when he heads to Cuba and gets all the 9/11 rescue workers free treatments. We all know how much the Americans or the government really hates Cuba but this just proves that Cuba is a much better country when it comes to taking care of its and people in general and educating them. It makes you wonder why the government really hates Cuba and uses the communist thing as an excuse. Say all you want about Cuba but at least they save people and not kill them. They send their doctors to help in Africa and other 3rd world countries and not soldiers to kill their kids, insult thrit men and steal oil.
This is a must see documantary. One of the best I have seen.
