Review of Sicko (2007) by Nick Q — 27 Apr 2010
About half of this is a touching story about American's suffering. This is where the story soars.
The other half is not journalism, and tries to showcase the perfection of other countries and their health care. It is too perfect to be true, and I know it is not entirely true.
Whatever your beliefs, Moore is a fantastic filmmaker, but this one is incredibly superficial and almost ignorant, which disappoints me because Moore showed greatness with Bowling for Columbine, but for this he glosses over the facts in hopes that we'll actually believe him.
Powerful stories when relating to the poor, ignorant when trying to offer a solution. But, hey, at least he is offering to fix a broken system.
