Review of Sicko (2007) by Richardj — 21 Jul 2007
Now though this has not been released in Britian yet, I managed to gain a copy, and this is Michael Moores best film since Bowling For Columbine...Whereas before Moore has picked holes and widend them with mockery and has become self righteous.
This film tries to explore a system with many different sides (but doesn't represent all)..Alot of the time Moore plays dumb so that people can see the significance of what he is trying to get at.
In the UK the NHS is free, but Moore didn't go into other issues which is present in england also, like if you are not insured when hit by a car you have to pay for the ambulance now (i didn't know this until a friend told me as he is not a car driver and work sin the medical profession), he also doesn't explain about how much tax(s) we pay in Britain, France (also ).
..There is also how long ambulances come to help people in the UK is F*cking slow....Plus in the UK we have waiting lists for operations (some people can be on them for months maybe years) So yes the US HMO service is piss poor-greedy but in the UK it will end up the same and only one set of people can be healthy and they are the rich (it is always the same.
....), did you notice how many poor people were represented in this (not many...who inturn are the most sick and unhealthy)....It is a disturbing film but be wary of all it shows and represents as not all of it rings true.
....
